Intelligence collection ship LINZA.

The Soviet Okean-class intelligence collection ship LINZA was designed for gathering intelligence and observing naval activities, notably participating in exercises like Northern Wedding '86, where it monitored NATO ships. It represents a significant aspect of Cold War naval operations.

These trawlers were built in East Germany. The #GRU (Soviet military intelligence) ordered 15 of these ships through the Soviet Navy in the early 1960s.

They had a range of 9,500 nautical miles and were equipped with 15 different monitoring stations. In addition to radio intelligence, the ships filmed major NATO naval exercises.
